Frequently Asked Questions

What is Vessel Tune?

Vessel Tune is a marine audio synchronization system that wirelessly connects multiple boats so everyone hears the same music at the same time, with virtually no noticeable delay. One boat hosts the music while all connected boats stay perfectly synchronized.

How Does Vessel Tune Work?

One boat is selected as the Host. The host connects a smartphone to its Vessel Tune unit via Bluetooth. Other boats join as Guests, and Vessel Tune wirelessly transmits the audio between boats in real time.

Is There Any Audio Delay?

No. Vessel Tune is engineered for virtually zero noticeable audio delay, eliminating echo, timing issues, and phase problems so every boat stays perfectly in sync.

Do I Need Wi-Fi or Cellular Service?

No. Vessel Tune creates its own private wireless network between boats. No Wi-Fi, cellular service, or internet connection is required.

Does Vessel Tune Use Bluetooth?

Yes, but only between your phone and the Host Vessel Tune unit. The boat-to-boat audio transmission uses Vessel Tune's proprietary wireless technology rather than standard Bluetooth streaming.

How Many Boats Can Connect?

There is no fixed limit. As long as boats remain within wireless range, they can join the group and stay synchronized.

What Is the Wireless Range?

Range depends primarily on where the Vessel Tune units are installed on each boat and the surrounding environment.

Pro Tip: Place the Host boat in the middle of the raft-up whenever possible to maximize coverage for all connected boats.

Will Vessel Tune Work With My Existing Stereo?

Yes. Vessel Tune is compatible with most marine stereo systems using standard RCA AUX inputs and USB power.

Can Any Boat Be the Host?

Yes. Any Vessel Tune-equipped boat can be configured as the Host or as a Guest. You can choose which boat controls the music at any time.

Who Controls the Music?

Only the Host boat controls music playback. This prevents interruptions and ensures everyone enjoys the same listening experience.

Is Installation Difficult?

No. Installation is quick and straightforward. Simply connect Vessel Tune to your stereo's RCA AUX input and USB power. No programming, networking, or complicated setup is required.

Can I Still Use My Stereo Normally?

Absolutely. When Vessel Tune is not in use, your stereo operates exactly as it normally would.

Does It Work While Boats Are Moving?

Vessel Tune is optimized for raft-ups, sandbars, marinas, docks, and other close-proximity boating situations. Performance may vary at higher speeds or over greater distances.

What's Included in the Box?

Each Vessel Tune package includes:

  • Vessel Tune module
  • Integrated power and audio connection cables
  • Quick Start Guide

Is Vessel Tune Waterproof?

Vessel Tune is designed for the marine environment, but it should be installed according to the installation instructions and should not be submerged in water.

Can I Switch the Host Boat During an Event?

Yes. Any connected Vessel Tune unit can become the Host. Simply designate the new Host and reconnect the group if needed.

Will Vessel Tune Affect My Phone Battery?

No more than a normal Bluetooth connection. Your phone only maintains a Bluetooth connection to the Host unit, while Vessel Tune handles the wireless distribution between boats.

Do All Boats Need a Vessel Tune Unit?

Yes. Every boat that wants to receive synchronized audio must have its own Vessel Tune unit installed.
